The Nord Effect has been helping Sockeye win games for the last 4 years. At 6'5'' and with a unique combination of timing, hops and gangle, Nord makes the field bigger for any thrower on his team, and smaller for opposing throwers. His D against DoG in the '05 UPA semifinals was a perfect example: the offense did everything right and Nord still won the play. Nord is an extremely skilled thrower for someone so athletic, and is featured both on O and D, creating matchup issues on both sides of the disc. In the ’07 final, only a shattered thumb could stop Nord's domination of the endzone (he’s recovering after metal-plate-inserting surgery).
